Training Environment
Matt- SCHS Baseball
When building Santa Cruz Strength my goal was to build the gym that I would personally want to train in. This included all sorts of fun training equipment, and more importantly a training environment that was a place where people push each other to be better.
Having other great athletes to train alongside, be pushed by and even compete with is a powerful motivational tool. Just recently one of our weightlifters hit a huge 15lb pr in the snatch of 225lbs, the next day an athlete who had just been passed up on the record board hit a 14lb PR in the Snatch of 227lbs to reclaim the lead, a few days later another athlete hit a 9lb PR in the Snatch of 231 to pass up both those athletes! Not to mention, Jon S's recent posts to the weekly PR board (Vert jump/Max Pull Ups/HSPU/etc.) has quite a few people talking about stepping up their game.
This is exactly the type of training environment I was hoping to build, and I am so happy to be able to train among so many great athletes who push me everyday to be better.
